I First came across the word ‘farrago’ when I was quite young, listening to Flanders and Swann singing humorous songs. It was probably the start of my fascination with words. This section does indeed include a confused mixture of thoughts, memories, observations and fears.
Once hooked on words, I always kept a dictionary close by me (this was way before computers and Google). To my delight I found that ‘serendipity’ was defined in one dictionary by the words ‘fortuitous happenstance’.
