By accident (long story), I started drawing humorous postcards. Every December I’d sit down and try to create amusing holiday postcards. From January a new brochure would go out to retailers, and orders would trickle in.
I did this for fifteen years (pretty much as a hobby). But vacations in the UK became three or four day breaks, mobile phones emerged as the way to share your holiday experiences, postage became expensive (and slow to arrive), so most people stopped sending postcards. It was fun for a while, a very different experience, and we did sell something like three million postcards.
